Sustainable
There are significant risks posed to society by climate change, including increased negative impacts on human health, frequency of severe weather events, and the potential disruption of supply chains essential to provide medicines and vaccines to patients.
At BESTBELL, we recognize the serious risks that climate change poses to society, including impacts on human health, increasing extreme weather events, and potential disruptions to global supply chains that are critical for delivering medicines and vaccines.
Therefore, we take responsibility for addressing climate-related challenges through long-term actions.
BESTBELL is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain in line with a 1.5°C pathway.
We conduct climate-related risk assessments to ensure the resilience of our research, manufacturing, and commercial operations.
In addition, we report climate-related risks, opportunities, and progress in a transparent manner aligned with recognized international frameworks.
We also set environmental performance objectives across the full life cycle of our products.
At the same time, we collaborate with stakeholders to expand markets for environmentally preferable products.
We support market-based regulations that encourage voluntary greenhouse gas emission reductions.
Our Climate Ambitions: to become Net Zero
BESTBELL is working toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
To date, we have reduced our emissions by more than 60% compared with our 2001 baseline.
Moreover, we were among the first companies to receive validation of our emission reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative.
We continue to strengthen our long-term climate strategy through clearly defined milestones.
Our goals include reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 46% by 2030 based on a 2019 baseline.
In addition, we aim to reduce these emissions by 95% by 2040.
We are also committed to addressing value-chain emissions.
Consequently, we plan to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2040.
We work with suppliers to increase the share of partners with science-based targets.
Sustainable Medicines
To reduce the environmental impact of medicines throughout their life cycles, BESTBELL focuses on greenhouse gas emissions, water stewardship, and green chemistry.
Specifically, we reduce emissions across operations and improve water efficiency, especially in water-stressed regions.
We also integrate sustainable chemistry principles into research and development processes.
–Waste
BESTBELL takes a multi-faceted approach by focusing on source reduction, waste minimization, and recycling improvements.
–Water Stewardship
The availability of clean water is a basic human need requiring management at the local watershed level. We remain committed to conserving resources and reducing water withdrawal, particularly in water-stressed areas.
–Making a Greener Workplace
We recognize that every commercial office, manufacturing site, logistics center, and R&D facility has an impact on the environment.
–Preserving Our Natural Resources
We’re restoring land, preserving wildlife, and helping to conserve natural resources.
–Pharmaceuticals in the Environment
Pharmaceuticals have become chemicals of emerging concern to the public because of their potential to reach drinking water.
–Smarter Packaging
We’re constantly collaborating across our supply chain to reduce the environmental footprint from our packaging.
–Green Processes
We’re continuously working to discover innovations that will minimize our impact on the environment.
Our Responsibility
BESTBELL uses its global scale and resources to support environmental protection and community well-being.
Therefore, we maintain high standards in operational excellence and environmental performance.
